Gro Bergrabb is originally from Bodø and has been cantor here since 2007. In Bodø Cathedral, she has been conductor of Bodø Cathedral's youth choir and girls' choir and in the autumn of 2019 she took over as artistic director of Bodø Domkor.
She is educated as a church musician from the Norwegian Academy of Music and has a major in organ playing also from the academy, as a student of Professor Jon Laukvik. She received her first organ lessons from former cathedral cantor in Bodø, Bjørn Andor Drage. She has also had program responsibility for Bodø International Organ Festival for a number of years and made her record debut as an organist in 2019 with a recording of Nystedt's "Prayer for Mitgefangene" together with soprano Berit Solset.
In addition to her job as a cantor and freelance work as an organist and conductor, she has held a number of positions in church and cultural life in Norway. She is currently a board member of the Norwegian Opera and Ballet, a member of the diocesan council in Sør-Hålogaland and a delegate to Kirkerådet.
