About Bodø Domkor

Bodø Domkor was founded on October 7th, 1954, and has since performed choral music in different genres. The choir is a central part of an extensive church song and music environment in Bodø Cathedral, an environment that has become known both regionally and nationally.

Our ambition is to contribute with choir and orchestral works as part of the diverse cultural events we have in Bodø, and to enrich and touch the audience with choral singing at a high artistic level.

We do both large and small projects in several different genres and we sing varied music from major church music works, such as Handel's Messiah and Bach's Christmas Oratorio, to the annual night jazz concerts which have become a solid pre Christmas tradition in Bodø. Here we invite some of the foremost jazz musicians in Norway to write new music for choir, wich is performed in collaboration between themselves and our qhoir.
